Action Plan
The Action Plan is aimed at children and is trying to stop the growth in childhood obesity. To do this the government has devised strategies to maximize the impact of overweight and obesity prevention efforts.

- Community information- raise awareness through social marketing
- Healthy food- remove the environmental challenges which in turn will make it easier to choose healthy food options
- Active Lifestyles- fostering incidental exercise and active lifestyles through physical environments
- Sport and Recreation- providing a range of organized and recreational activity
- Prevention and Early Intervention Services- supporting behaviour and change through early intervention and service programs
- Reduced intake of energy dense and nutrient poor fruits
- Increased intake of vegetables and fruit
- Reduced intake of sugar-sweetened beverages
- Reduced time in sedentary, particularly small screen related behaviours
- Increase moderate to vigorous physical activity
- Increase walking and incidental exercise
